The Hyde Away Inn and Restaurant is a farmstead, circa 1824, located in the Mad River Valley in the heart of Vermont's Green Mountains. Opened as the Ulla Lodge on New Year's Day, 1949, the Inn has been a part of ski history since the early days of Mad River Glen. The Hyde Away is a favorite of locals and vacationers alike and has a loyal following.
The Task
The inn owners wanted to incorporate newer technology and capabilities for communicating with their clientele into their existing static website.
Our Solution
We installed and configured WordPress and skinned it to appear like the existing static website. Then installed and configured Gallery 2 photo gallery application on the server. Once these were installed, we added the WPG2 plugin to embed Gallery 2 into WordPress. We tied it into the main website with a link in the main navigation and then installed the Gallery Remote client on a Macintosh at the inn to allow drag & drop convenience and auto resizing for image uploads to the gallery.
