The Mad River Valley Century Ride is a 100 mile bicycle ride through scenic Vermont countryside. The annual weekend event includes a carbo-loading dinner the night before, sag wagon support, rest stops with food and beverages, and a BBQ after the ride.
The Task
The ride has grown in popularity in the nearly 2 decades since it began — to a large degree by word-of-mouth. Organizers needed a website that would provide event details and related information like area activities and lodging options. Returning riders enjoy seeing photos of their rides and new riders get a sense of fun and the beautiful Vermont countryside.
Our Solution
Working this event each year, we provide the photography and have built a new photo gallery on the website for each event. We recently rebuilt the site, and we're developing a new photo gallery.
We have promoted the event online and developed links to the site from related businesses, associations, and club organizations. We also provide desktop wallpaper images for download on the site as an additional promotinal feature. The site is easy to navigate and validates to W3C standards.
