Downhill Media is a web development and marketing communications consulting firm. I’m Michael Lewis. I’ve worked for over 20 years in corporate communications, public relations, and marketing — helping organizations and individuals communicate via the web since 1999.
I offer clean, easy-to-navigate, search optimized websites that include more than just information — I strive to communicate a sense of place and personality.

A Bit of Background
I spent much of my childhood in Vermont. My family was involved in starting and running Jay Peak Resort in the early years where I learned to ski as a small child.
I’ve worked for corporations, agencies, and as a consultant. My experience spans a wide range of businesses and subject matter, including environmental science and engineering, travel & tourism, resort development/construction, manufacturing, specialty foods, restaurant/hospitality, and Internet/IT related services.
Regardless of the business or topics involved, my role has always centered around communication — in print or online. After college in Ithaca, New York, I spent 6 years in New York City where I worked as a talent agent and co-produced an Off-Broadway play. Later, after a number of years as a public relations professional in New Jersey, I returned to Vermont to enjoy living in the Green Mountains once again.
Web development is a natural extension of my past communications work and fits nicely into the rural Vermont lifestyle.
